ETHICAL PRODUCTION Let's face it, we work in a dirty industry. But we are ready for the good fight and we are committed to utilizing the most ethical means of production as possible. We value our strategic production partners and work closely with them in every step of our production process. It takes more time, but just as Royal himself always looked to do things the right way, we think it's worth every minute.

KEY MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES The outdoors has always been at the forefront of our brand's greatest source of inspiration. It is also from there that we collect our materials and where the effects of consumption are most evident.

We are very careful about what goes into our products. When we choose a material, we evaluate its effectiveness, functional properties, chemical composition and how much is needed. To help us make decisions, we use the Preferred Materials and Fibers List which ranks the materials according to their environmental impact. This list is continuously updated, as the state of knowledge changes and new materials are developed.

Royal Robbins is committed to eliminating hazardous chemicals in the production our garments. Our sustainable Hempline™ fabrics have a dual focus. Hemp’s natural performance: anti-microbial, temperature regulation and durability. Along with Hemp’s sustainable attributes: no pesticides and less irrigation while also replenishing the soil.

We are proud to offer a non-perfluorinated DWR finish on our outerwear and travel pants collections. The state-of-the-art, non-perflourinated water-proofing technology is designed to last the life of the garment, helping to eliminate powerful toxins from our environment.

TempraTech provided by HeiQ® provides textiles with bluesign® approved temperature-activated, dynamic moisture wicking properties through a responsive, hydro functional polymer that captures and distributes moisture.

HeiQ® Stain Away

Fabrics treated with stain release technology allows water-based stains to be removed easily during normal laundering or cleaning. The HeiQ® Stain Away technology we utilize is non-fluorinated as part of our sustainability commitment. The yarns are hydrophilic – increasing both the absorbency and the moisture wicking properties of the garment in order to allow water to enter and freely exit the fabric, carrying stains out as the water passes through. It is most effective if stains are washed within 24 hours of stain.

Organic Cotton

Our organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides fungicides, herbicides, sewage sludge, irradiation or genetic engineering. It is certified by an accredited independent organization.
