A French national living in Thailand, Sylvain has guided in Southeast Asia for over 30 years. An expert on Buddhism, Hinduism, Asian history and art, he also speaks French, English, Thai, Lao, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Trip type: Cultural tours in Asia and Vietnam.

Ro Bahamondez

Ro was born in Chile and grew up in Patagonia where he developed a deep love for the outdoors. He’s been guiding for the last 15 years, and is also a hiker, kayaker, mountaineer, and wilderness responder. He’s also a certified Mountain guide and kayak instructor. Trip type: Hiking & Trekking in Argentina, Chile and Patagonia.

Brienne O'Donnell

A Michigan native, water and outdoors has always played a central role in Brienne’s life. Her path to guiding has been spontaneous, including adventures in New Zealand, working in outdoor retail, and biking across the South. She believes the best way to protect wild places is to share the outdoors in all its natural beauty. Trip type: Hiking & Trekking in North America in Yosemite and the Sierras.

Fred Ackerman

A Bay Area native who studied linguistics at UCSD and worked as a paralegal before guiding. Instead of law school, Fred took a sabbatical to live on a fishing boat in Alaska, which led to his dream job as a guide. He loves meeting people of all ages and backgrounds and that his office is the great outdoors. Trip type: Hiking & Trekking in North America in Yosemite and the Sierras.

Flo Simond

Growing up in the Chamonix Valley in France, the mountains are an integral part of Flo’s life. She has led nearly 50 trips to the Alps, not counting how many times she’s done this trip for her own fun! In addition to guiding, she is a skier and climber. Trip type: Hiking & Trekking in Europe and Switzerland.

Laurent Langoisseur

Avid sports enthusiast and inexhaustible hiker, Laurent has hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc close to 100 times. A guide for MT Sobek since 1995, he also teaches First Aid and Mountain Rescue to guides during in his free time. During the winter, he’s a ski patrol monitor in the mountains above Chamonix. Trip type: Hiking & Trekking in France, Italy, Switzerland and the Alps.
